An FYI in case you shop at Walgreens, which has recently started a rewards card program. In the program, points are earned through purchases and “healthy activity”:
Get 20 points for every mile you walk or run
and 20 points per daily weigh-in. You can also set goals, engage with an active community and earn badges for healthy activity.
Sounds like they’re standing on Michelle O’s soapbox. Ever noticed how the government harasses large companies, which subsequently take on the administration’s objectives? How about Walmart and McDonald’s? Remember seeing Janet Napolitano’s face on Walmart TVs after Walmart was sued for gender discrimination? Walgreens has had recent trouble with oxycodone violations. And McDonald’s is always in hot water with the Left for some reason or other.
Now, according to TPM, Walgreen’s “seeks to inform consumers of what they stand to gain from the [obamacare] law.”
The lies coming from the government and media never cease to amaze me. Anyone who’s ever been to the DMV should have a strong suspicion that the government may not be able to provide the level of service Americans have been accustomed to regarding their healthcare. On the other hand, I have never seen anyone upset that they had to wait over an hour past their appointment time at the local McClinic. Poor sheeple. Their naivete is as amazing as the government’s lies.
According to WashingtonExaminer.com: 74% of small businesses will fire workers, cut hours under Obamacare. According to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce:
“Small businesses expect the requirement [of joining obamacare] to negatively impact their employees. Twenty-seven percent say they will cut hours to reduce full time employees, 24 percent will reduce hiring, and 23 percent plan to replace full time employees with part-time workers to avoid triggering the mandate.”
Under obamacare, full time employment is just 30 hours.
Many will blame the companies for trying to avoid the extra expense; however, particularly in this slow economy, which the government has created, most of these businesses probably just cannot afford the new costs.
The administration knows this is a business-killer, which is why they are delaying the implementation for small businesses until after the next election (and the Republicans are okay with this – still think there are two political parties?).
However, as the article states, “The president did not delay the mandate that Americans must have health insurance or pay a fine.” That’s why Walgreens, and others, are being conscripted to promote the lie that obamacare will benefit Americans.
Now, at Walgreens, you get not only additional spying via the new “rewards” card, but a big dose of the administration’s propaganda. Think I’ll check to see if CVS or Rite Aid have had any recent trouble.
